Welcome to Community Safety Uganda

Do you fancy fire safety charity work in Africa?

Community Safety Uganda [previously Mityana Community Foundation] has been working in the Mityana region of Uganda as a UK registered charity for over 7 years. We take UK FRS personnel as volunteers into Uganda in order to deliver Schools Fire Safety Education in a region previously blighted with numerous school fires and associated fire fatalities (in particular, in school dormitories).

No fire response is available within the District and in addition to Fire Safety Education; we deliver basic training to Local Police in order that a first response can be made to fires and other emergencies.
Each year we take a team of UK volunteers to Uganda for a 3 week programme which, in the past has proven to be hugely successful and is now attracting Government attention.

We are now recruiting for our future programmes. Should you require any further information regarding the charity or of future programmes, please contact Ian Robertson trustee, on 07976220423 or email at
